National drug testing
Federal drug testing
There are two main different types of national drug testing: federally regulated and non federally regulated. Federal drug testing is regulated by the mandatory guidelines of Federal Workplace Drug Testing Programs. These guidelines must be followed by uniformed services, executive agencies of the federal government, and service providers or contractors who are contracted by the federal government.
Non federally mandated drug testing includes any other testing such as in businesses, clinics, sports, homes, or schools. Secure Results.net offers drug testing services for the entire range of businesses, institutions and individuals, monitored by a Certified Medical Review Officer and using the latest technologies to provide accurate, confidential, and secure results.
Besides this, it is also important to know that there are some almost-independent institutions and forces, such as the USA postal Service, some units in the legislative and judicial branches, or some members of the armed forces who do not apply to the federal drug testing guidelines but do have drug testing programs mandated by their workplace policies or state laws.
Federal drug testing programs
The Federal drug testing programs include five main groups of drugs: cannabinoids, cocaine, amphetamines, opiates, and phencyclidine. Drug testing programs regulated by SAMHSA apply to occupations which require DOT testing and some federal employees date from the 1980's and exclude some drugs which are currently highly used. But, although they are not required by the SAMHSA, many laboratories today test for a much broader range of drugs, for private industry.
